Professor Bole is coordinator of ceramics in the department
of art at Ohio State. She specializes in creating mosaics and labor-intensive,
hand-processed pieces with multiple firings. She exhibits works in the
United States, the Netherlands and Lithuania. Locally, Professor Bole
exhibits at the Barth Gallery in Columbus. She presents workshops and
lectures around the country, and has served as an artist in residence
in such diverse locations as Latvia, the Netherlands, New York, Wisconsin,
Maine and Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Ohio State, Professor Bole taught
at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Cleveland Art Institute, and
Alfred University. In 2000, she was awarded a fellowship by the Ohio Arts
Council, and has also received grants from Ohio State and the Andy Warhol
Foundation.
